The Aktilite CL128 lamp with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) is intended for use in photodynamic therapy in combination with Metvix (methyl aminolevulinate) cream 160mg/g. The LED array is placed in a rectangular pattern and is coupled to a matching array of lenses that produce a collimated red light beam. The lamp emits a light of high uniformity with a narrow spectrum at approximately 630nm, which can be adjusted by a control panel. The light dose used is 37 J/cm2 and is combined with Metvix cream.
