Description

Cream with the active ingredient doxepin hydrochloride 5% w/w. that, when applied topically to the skin, can relieve itching/pruritis. Clinically proven to reduce itch after 15 minutes in 75% of patients. Doxepin is thought to work by blocking histamine receptors, therefore reducing some of the reactions that cause itching associated with eczema. The medicine is also absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream and may cause some drowsiness, which may help relieve eczema itch at bedtime, allowing the patient to sleep more easily.
