Dermovate contains clobetasol propionate, a highly active corticosteroid with topical anti-inflammatory activity. The major effect of clobetasol propionate on skin is a non-specific anti-inflammatory response, which is partially due to vasoconstriction and decrease in collagen synthesis

Short-treatment courses of steroid responsive dermatoses of the scalp, such as psoriasis and recalcitrant dermatoses
