Keratolytics

ClearZal

Hard skin remover cream with urea 7%, salicyclic acid, 4% and trichioroacretic acid 2%. A triple action formula which removes dead skin cells, promotes new growth with an aloe vera base for rapid absorption and increased hydration

Duofilm

Duofilm is a combination of lactic and salicylic acid. Lactic acid affects the keratinisation process, reducing hyperkeratosis, which is characteristic of warts. It is caustic, which leads to the destruction of the keratotic tissue of the wart and causative virus. Salicylic acid is keratolytic, facilitating desquamation by solubilising the intercellular cement in the stratum corneum

MolluDab

MolluDab is used externally against molluscum contagiosum, a skin lesion caused by a virus. MolluDab causes cells which are affected by the virus to dissolve and thereby produces a defence reaction of the skin in the region affected by molluscum contagiosum

Molutrex

Molutrex

Molutrex contains a stable solution of potassium hydroxide (also known as KOH). This agent breaks down the hard keratin surface of the skin. When painted onto the molluscum blisters this sets off an irritant reaction which stimulates the body’s own immune system to attack the virus. The virus is destroyed and the blisters heal.

Once Callus Removing Balm

Once Callus Removing Balm

Dermatonics Once Callus Removing Balm can be applied once or twice daily as prescribied. It combines 25% urea with ceramide rich Oat Lipd Oil and can treat callus and anhidrosis anywhere on the body. Free of parabens.

Salactol

Salactol is a combination of salicylic acid and lactic acid in flexible collodion. Salicylic acid has bacteriostatic and fungicidal actions, as well as keratolytic properties. Its effectiveness as a topical treatment for hyperkeratotic skin lesions is based on its mild keratolytic action, which slowly and painlessly destroys the epithelium. In the treatment of warts, a mild irritant reaction, which may render the virus more prone to immunologic stimulation or response, may add to the mechanical removal of infected cells. In addition to its antiseptic and caustic properties, lactic acid enhances the availability of salicylic acid from the dried collodion

Salatac Gel

Salatac Gel is a combination of salicylic acid and lactic acid, which are routinely used in the treatment of verrucas, warts, corns and calluses for their keratolytic properties. When applied topically and in high enough concentrations, salicylic acid acts by achieving a slow, painless destruction of the thickened stratum corneum. It softens and destroys the stratum corneum of the affected tissue by reducing the adhesiveness of the corneocytes while causing the cornified epithelium to swell, soften, macerate and finally desquamate. In the treatment of warts, a mild irritant reaction, which may render the virus more prone to immunologic stimulation or response, may add to the mechanical removal of infected cells. In addition to its antiseptic and caustic properties, lactic acid enhances the availability of salicylic acid from the dried collodion
