DermaSilk Therapeutic Clothing

DermaSilk are itch-reducing garments and tubular sleeve that are designed to treat pruritus and irritation caused by eczema, dry skin and dermatitis in adults and children, plus chemo and radiotherapy induced conditions and certain gynaecological conditions such as lichen sclerosus, lichen simplex chronicus and recurrent thrush. They are made from a unique combination of medical grade, fibroin silk, protected by a non-migrating antimicrobial that cannot be removed from the fabric. DermaSilk is designed to be worn as a long-term prophylactic and is not intended for wet or dry wrapping. Only a light amount of non-greasy emollient is required under it. The garments can be used in the presence of infection as they are not occlusive and have been tailored to ensure that they will last for as long as they fit the patient

Indications

A clinically proven preventative range of garments designed to be worn continuously for the management of: irritated skin caused by mild to moderate atopic eczema; gravitational eczema; epidermolysis; bullsoa; intertrigo; radiotherapy; lymphoedema; lichen sclerosus; and recurrent vulval candidosis. Also used as a non-irritant dressing retention. Controls itch by regulating body temperature and humidity and can reduce the frequency and severity of eczema flares and thrush outbreaks
