Rozex

Rozex contains 0.75% metroniazole, an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent that is active against a wide range of pathogenic microorganisms. The mechanisms of action of metronidazole in rosacea are unknown, but evidence suggests that the effects may be antibacterial and/or anti-inflammatory

Salactol

Salactol is a combination of salicylic acid and lactic acid in flexible collodion. Salicylic acid has bacteriostatic and fungicidal actions, as well as keratolytic properties. Its effectiveness as a topical treatment for hyperkeratotic skin lesions is based on its mild keratolytic action, which slowly and painlessly destroys the epithelium. In the treatment of warts, a mild irritant reaction, which may render the virus more prone to immunologic stimulation or response, may add to the mechanical removal of infected cells. In addition to its antiseptic and caustic properties, lactic acid enhances the availability of salicylic acid from the dried collodion

Salatac Gel

Salatac Gel is a combination of salicylic acid and lactic acid, which are routinely used in the treatment of verrucas, warts, corns and calluses for their keratolytic properties. When applied topically and in high enough concentrations, salicylic acid acts by achieving a slow, painless destruction of the thickened stratum corneum. It softens and destroys the stratum corneum of the affected tissue by reducing the adhesiveness of the corneocytes while causing the cornified epithelium to swell, soften, macerate and finally desquamate. In the treatment of warts, a mild irritant reaction, which may render the virus more prone to immunologic stimulation or response, may add to the mechanical removal of infected cells. In addition to its antiseptic and caustic properties, lactic acid enhances the availability of salicylic acid from the dried collodion

Scar Fx

Silicone sheeting used to improve the appearance of surgical and traumatic scars (including normal post-op scars, hypertrophic scars, and keloid scars) and burns. Creates an occlusive barrier, promoting skin moisture. This barrier supports the mechanism of action, which includes hydration and occlusion. Made of 100% healthcare-grade silicone, which is flexible, durable and with good adhesive quality.

ScarSil

ScarSil

Quick-drying topical liquid silicone that provides a non-sticky, waterproof and velvety smooth finish. Transparent, odourless, water resistant and suitable for children. Allows application of facial cosmetics.

Sebco

Sebco

An ointment containing coal tar solution 12% w/w, salicylic acid 2% w/w and sulfur for external use 4% w/w in a coconut oil base. The mixture of coal tar, salicylic acid and sulfur reduces itch, helps remove scaly skin and has antiseptic properties. Sebco is used in the treatment of skin diseases which cause dry scaly skin on the scalp. These include psoriasis, eczema, seborrhoeic dermatitis and dandruff. It has mild antipruritic, antiseptic and keratolytic properties and is based on an ointment called Unguentum Cocois Co.

Secukinumab (Cosentyx)

Secukinumab is a fully human IgG1/k; monoclonal antibody that selectively binds to and neutralises the proinflammatory cytokine interleukin-17A (IL-17A). Secukinumab works by targeting IL-17A and inhibiting its interaction with the IL-17 receptor, which is expressed on various cell types including keratinocytes. As a result, secukinumab inhibits the release of proinflammatory cytokines, chemokines and mediators of tissue damage and reduces IL-17A-mediated contributions to autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Clinically relevant levels of secukinumab reach the skin and reduce local inflammatory markers. As a direct consequence treatment, secukinumab reduces erythema, induration and desquamation present in plaque psoriasis lesions.
